Test Automation Engineer (Python)

Join our Platform Unit in the Medical Division, where innovation meets impact. As part of this dynamic team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of core software solutions that power a range of life-saving medical products including lung ventilators, anesthesia systems, and neonatal incubators.
To uphold the highest standards of stability and quality, our Test Automation Engineers play a key role in building and advancing automated testing frameworks that ensure these critical systems perform reliably in real-world clinical environments.
Work
Key areas of responsibility for this position include:
- Plan, implement and maintain automated system tests for the reference system platform using an established in-house Python test framework
- Design and build test environments using a combination of software and hardware test equipment
- Develop and extend the existing test infrastructure and generate ideas for new test approaches and tooling
- Execute non-functional tests including stress, robustness, and network resilience testing
- Analyze test logs, monitor trends, and report results to support software development teams
- Contribute to improving test coverage across a diverse set of software and hardware platform components
We are looking for a person with the following qualifications and experience:
- Several years of professional experience in Python
- Familiarity with common test frameworks such as Pytest
- Professional experience as a Tester, ideally in a regulatory or embedded environment, is desirable
- Proficiency with continuous integration tools (Jenkins) and Git
- Experience setting up and operating test environments; comfort working with physical test equipment is a plus
- Familiarity with network protocols and Linux networking concepts is advantageous
- Team player with an open and communicative nature, and an independent and conscientious working style
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
