Test Automation Engineer (C++)

In particular we specialize in application and embedded software development for lung ventilation, anesthesia, breathalyzers, gas detectors and other similar devices used by emergency services as well as industrial workers all over the world.

Join our Platform Unit in the Medical Division, where innovation meets impact. As part of this dynamic team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of core software solutions that power a range of life-saving medical products including lung ventilators, anesthesia systems, and neonatal incubators.
To uphold the highest standards of stability and quality, our Test Automation Engineers play a key role in building and advancing automated testing frameworks that ensure these critical systems perform reliably in real-world clinical environments.
Work
Key areas of responsibility for this position include:
- Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests for embedded C++ platform components
- Extend and improve tooling to measure software quality across the platform codebase
- Evolve and harmonize the test framework infrastructure across platform components
- Research and apply advanced verification techniques to continuously improve defect detection and test suite effectiveness
- Own and evolve core test infrastructure and shared utilities across the platform
- Review system design and test documentation from a verification perspective
- Provide support and advice to development teams
We are looking for a person with the following qualifications and experience:
- Several years of professional experience in C/C++ programming, ideally in embedded or real-time systems
- Background in software quality engineering; ISTQB certification or equivalent experience is a plus
- Experience with embedded development environments and build systems (CMake) is preferred
- Proficiency with continuous integration tools (Jenkins) and Git
- Familiarity with test frameworks such as Google Test or CppUnit
- Experience with code coverage tools (e.g. gcov/lcov) or mutation testing is a plus
- Knowledge of fuzzing techniques is advantageous
- Team player with an open and communicative nature, and an independent and conscientious working style
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
